Establish and maintain good relationships within the province to drive the Market Conduct agenda
Interpret legislation and apply this during the decision-making process and can make decisions which will mitigate risks or promote compliance with FAIS and other market conduct legislation
Manage end to end administrative processes to ensure compliance with FAIS record keeping requirements (ie ensuring that all representative mandates and other documents are loaded to the relevant repository)
Monitor disciplinary outcomes received from Human Capital to ensure that debarment requests are submitted to the KI's within the Province and upon agreement, facilitates submission of documents through to Head, FAIS Enablement for the submission thereof
Play a key role in ensuring that non-compliant staff do not provide services to customers
Provide a central point of reference to stakeholders for all FAIS fit and proper related aspects for the province
Provide monthly feedback to Key Individual (KI's), Head, FAIS Enablement and Head, Operations on FAIS activities
Refer decisions that deviate from the legislation to Provincial KI's or the Head, FAIS Enablement (eg where a representative has exceeded their deadline to acquire a qualification or to complete their product-specific training, the jobholder will instruct line management that the representative need to stop providing financial services
Regularly provide feedback, statistics and challenges experienced to Key Individuals (KI), Human Capital and Learning and Development etc
Report monthly to KIs, Human Capital, Head/Manager, Provincial Operations and Head, FAIS Enablement on the status, progress of supervision and fit and proper activities for the province
See through decisions with the line manager until remedial action is in place to correct the situation All decisions need to be communicated to the direct line Manager/Head, Operations and KI immediately in writing
Take ownership of all other FAIS related activities cascaded down by the Head, FAIS Enablement, Human Capital and Operations functions within the province (eg implementation of new controls received from FAIS enablement when legislation changes, FIAS mandates etc)
Undertake on-going monitoring exercises to ensure that FAIS activities (eg on boarding, supervision, debarments etc) are implemented in line with laid down controls and procedures and that adherence to FAIS and the General Code of Conduct requirements are applied
