Leading a team of 4 young legal professionals supporting the parent BioUrja Group, reporting to the Group's General Counsel in Houston, USA. Responsibilities included:
(a) Contract Management:
• Drafting, vetting, and negotiating various contracts including agreements for sale and purchase of energy commodities,/agri-commodities/metal alloys, Master Service Agreements, Software License Agreements, Transportation and Logistic Agreements, Charter Parties, Terminal Storage and Transloading Agreements, Consultancy Agreements, Conveyances & Deeds relating to immovable/real property, Non-disclosure Agreements, Parent Guarantees, Loan Agreements, Promissory Notes, Factoring Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, Shareholder and Share Subscription/Purchase Agreements, and other commercial agreements as per business needs.
(b) Dispute Resolution:
• Conducting legal research and in-house preparation of litigation filed in the USA.
• Drafting and reviewing pleadings, research, and strategy planning for litigation/arbitration filed in India and coordinating with advocates.
• Representing group companies in pre-litigation mediation under the Commercial Court Act, 2015.
(c) Compliance Management:
• Drafting corporate governance documents for companies globally.
• Monitoring business-related compliances.
• Filing and prosecuting domestic and international trademark applications/registrations.
(d) Due Diligence & Project Assistance:
• Conducting legal due diligence of business proposals seeking investment from the Group.
• Providing legal assistance for upcoming projects in India.
(e) Liaison:
• Liaising with the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation, labour department, pollution board, and other government authorities in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

Managed and monitored Third-Party Legal Claims (MACT), Consumer, and Insurance Ombudsman cases, including:
• Registering new cases and appointing Advocates and Investigators.
• Following up with investigators for investigation reports within Turnaround Time (TAT) and guiding them to trace the best evidence.
• Analysing investigation reports and communicating defences in cases to external advocates.
• Coordinating with and instructing external advocates for the successful onduct of cases.
• Coordinating inter-departmentally within the company to obtain full case details.
• Testifying on behalf of the company in court in cases of no insurance or policy breach.
• Negotiating with the opposite party for amicable settlement of disputes.
• Analysing awards/judgments and recommending them for compliance/appeal.
• Following up with High Court Advocates for Claimant's and Company appeals.
• Recovering deposited amounts in pursuance of pay and recovery orders.

• Drafted and filed Trademark applications, oppositions, counter-statements, rectification, and other necessary documents for the protection of the company's trademarks.
• Coordinated with and assisted external advocates in effectively managing matters under the Copyright Act, Designs Act, Patents Act, Negotiable Instruments Act, Consumer Protection Act, Food Safety and Standards Act, and Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
• Briefed cases to external advocates, reviewed and finalized pleadings for company cases drafted by external advocates.
• Coordinated with other departments to ensure compliance under the Food Safety and Standards Act and liaised with FSSAI authorities.
• Drafted commercial agreements, legal notices, and replies to legal notices.
• Liaised with government officers and private parties for settlement of legal disputes.
• Provided legal advisory to other departments in their day-to-day business operations.

• Drafting plaints, complaints, petitions, applications etc in constitutional, civil, criminal, Arbitration, DRT and MACT matters; and
• Appearance before the High Court, District Court, and Tribunals.
